Answering the Call

It was September of 1997 when the Canadian Football League contacted William Huff Advertising to produce signage for the 1997 Grey Cup. It was an enormous amount of signage that seemed an impossible task. We literally took the ball and ran with it! With a great team effort we delivered every advertising signage, field template and banner that was ordered.

The CFL were so impressed with our service, commitment and attention to detail that they asked us to help them again the next year in Winnipeg.

Official Signage Company of the C.F.L

Fast forward to today. We are proud to be the official signage company of the Canadian Football League - a title given to us in 2000. We are happy to say that we have produced signage for each playoff game and Grey Cup game since 1997. The faces have changed within the league but one thing remains constant: that the league still depends on William Huff Advertising for all of their signage needs. Our services have also changed throughout the years but our commitment has not, and for this reason we have had the opportunity to provide stadium signage and field templates for all eight CFL teams. We provide production and installation at each stadium and also provide field painting of logos both the templates and the actual applying of paint.

Stepping it up for the Play-offs 

Although we are happy to service the teams throughout the season, it is during the four playoff games and Grey Cup that William Huff Advertising shines. We are responsible for the overall sponsorship signage that is visible on TV. Like all of the eight teams we spend a whole year getting ready to shine in a Grey Cup Championship. This starts with the design and layout of each sign and template, readying it for client approval. We then produce, ship and install the signs for their respective games. After the games, we take down and ship to the next game, repeating this procedure leading to the Grey Cup. When it’s all over, we take it down and ship it back to our shop, where we clean and inventory the signage at no cost to the league so it is ready for the next playoff season.
